Future Generations Day

Celebrate Future Generations Day 2026 on March 20

The health of today’s communities, including rapidly increasing rates of chronic disease, did not happen overnight. It has been shaped by environments, policies, and systems that unfolded over decades—and sometimes across generations.

Held annually on the third Friday of March, Future Generations Day is an annual moment to pause, reflect, and think beyond short-term outcomes toward long-term impact.

Future Generations Day offers us a chance to:

  • Bring long-term health thinking into today’s decision making

  • Translate complex science into accessible ideas

  • Encourage community responsibility without blame

  • Create space for future-oriented leadership

How to Participate

Future Generations Day is designed to be flexible. Use it to engage with future thinking initiatives personal to you.

You do not need to be a scientist to participate. You only need curiosity, a sense of community, and a willingness to think forward.
